Ability To Conceptualize And Apply Nursing Practice
As a cosmetic nurse, I should have the ability to make good decision using the clinical decision making framework. This involves mainly three steps that are gathering data, interpreting the data, evaluating and finally make an evidence based solution (Azizi-Fini, Hajibagheri, & Adib-Hajbaghery, 2015). Critical thinking should be at interplay always as a cosmetic nurse. This is in fact, one of my strengths in the cosmetic nursing profession.
My Strengths And How I Adress My Weakness
As a cosmetic Nurse, I have both strengths and weaknesses. My strengths include good communication skills, I always think critically, I am honest and full of integrity and finally am always emotionally stable. The cosmetic nursing job is often stressful and there are times I go through traumatic situations. However, I have learnt how to let issues like death and suffering go without letting them get personal. This is one of my strengths (Keller, Arnold, & Boggs, 1989). Another thing is that I always think critically. The cosmetic nursing profession requires one to think critically and initiate nursing interventions immediately. Finally, I am very good at sharing information to my colleagues and this really assists me as I always avoid confusion.
My weakness on the other hand include luck of empathy and physical endurance. As a cosmetic nurse, I easily get tired .However, am planning to overcome this weakness through regular physical exercises. About empathy, I am gradually learning on how to feel the patient’s pain. I am also learning on how to quickly recognize patient’s symptoms without necessarily carrying out physical assessment.
Scope Of Practice After Completion Of My Program In Cosmetics Nursing
After completing my cosmetic nursing program, my scope of practice will generally be guided by the legal as well as ethical considerations ,the professional and contextual influence .Some of the ethical considerations include the principle of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice (Zuriguel Pérez et al., 2014). The scope of practice will also be guided by the Nursing and the Midwifery Board of Australia and this includes registration or obtaining of the license and other details.
How I Contribute To Education, Research, Publication And Professional Leadership
As a cosmetic nurse, I always work hard so as to make significant contributions to education, research, publication and finally professional leadership. Concerning research, I always make contribution based on my hands on knowledge for example on how to inject anesthesia to a patient .I also provide theory behind certain nursing interventions, provide the hypothesis, structure different studies that were already done by other professionals and finally collecting evidence which leads to better care of the patients.
About education, I have also made some significant contributions. I always provide evidence based knowledge from routine practice and this boosts the already existing theoretical knowledge that can be acquired in the classroom (Papathanasiou, Kleisiaris, Fradelos, Kakou, & Kourkouta, 2014). Concerning professional leadership, the NSQHS that I learnt have generally assisted me contribute in leadership by sharing to other colleagues the qualities of being a good leader. Finally, I contribute in the publications by offering hands on experience or knowledge which is later documented in journals and books.
