5. If Mia made an appointment to see you as a counsellor for assistance regarding burnout and stress:

Answers:
Answer 1

Mia had some many professional and personal issues that she encountered when she was doing therapeutic counseling like in the case of Chleo who had a liberal sexual attitude. Mia didn’t approve of his lifestyle but went ahead to initiate the counseling session. Mia would have referred the client to another therapist who would have been comfortable doing the session instead of doing it when she feels that it is interfering with her personal beliefs and values (Carlson, Sperry & Lewis, 2013). This situation made the forming of relationship with the client to be difficult. The client felt judge and couldn’t open up. In this situation Mia didn’t consider the codes of ethic that guides counselors. The client felt abandoned and wanted the session to be terminated. In the case of Berry Mia had unresolved personal issues that affected her relationship with the client (Sommers-Flanagan & Sommers-Flanagan, 2018). In this situation there is relationship between Mia past personal issues and her profession as a counselor. She doesn’t like the client being that he is alcoholic and her father was well.
Answer 2
In this situation, Mia finds herself liking Kyle and is always self conscious around him and makes more effort on her appearance when she has appointment with Kyle. In this situation Mia has cross the professional boundary that guides counselors. This can lead to a very problematic multiple relationships making the counseling session difficult. In Cameron situation Mia has crossed the boundary of profession again by accepting a token from him, this is unethical because therapist is not to accept things from clients as gifts or appreciation (Nadal, Griffin, Wong, Hamit & Rasmus, 2014). Mia has crossed the boundary when she accepted to join Sarah to the trip to Australia as a therapeutic approach. The guide for counseling don’t allow counseling session to be done out of the counseling room.

Answer 3
Mia should consider improving most of the things when she is conducting therapeutic counseling. For instance when doing counseling she should document the session so that incase of any problem she can easily refer. Like in the situation where she terminated the counseling session with a client who made advance on her and later threatened to report the matter to the authority (Chan & Thomas, 2015). Mia didn’t have something to support the reason for terminating the session on document form and this was risky because this can easily cost her job. Another thing that she should in cooperate is good quality of care to her clients hence enhancing service delivery. In order for Mia to improve her service delivery she should consider joining counseling session so that she can be taken through counseling (Evans, 2013). This will help her in managing of stress and when she is able to deal with things that stress her she will be able to deliver. She is also supposed to understand the codes of ethic and legal issues.
Answer 4
The case that needs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the case of Berry the father of two who is alcoholic. This approach is best for this case because it changes one’s attitude and feelings about something. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind peoples difficulties in changing a situation (Carlson, Sperry & Lewis, 2013). It is appropriate for these clients because it emphasizes the need for behavior change. The two clients deserve to be served using this approach because it is the most suitable strategy for them. It suits the nature of their problem and can therefore, be relied upon to create the desired cognitive and behavioral change in them.
Answer 5

I would sit down with her and find out the time she can be free and comfortable to attend the session as I document. After scheduling meetings on the first visit, I would discuss burn out and stress management strategies (Carlson, Sperry & Lewis, 2013). I will allow her to explain herself, would talk on the reason of taking enough clients for duration not enrolling so many that she cannot handle that can lead to burnout. To achieve all these, I will have to use my professional expertise such as listening, interviewing, and cropping skills. They will be essential in enabling me to appeal to the client and win her confidence.
I would refer her to a physiotherapist that will help in massaging her. This will help in reducing the anxiety and stress that she is going through. I will not hesitate to refer the case because, as a professional, I know that I should always be ready to refer complex cases to those who can handle them better than me.

Personal feelings evoked

As I was doing counseling for Mia, I felt like I was the one going through the situation and ended up empathizing with her. I had such a feeling because I could not sympathize, but only put myself in a similar situation and feel for her. That is why I had to dedicate my time and give her the counseling services she deserves from an expert like me. As a professional, I should only show empathy to such a client because it is the best offer I can give them. By acknowledging the challenge and become passionate about it, I had to use my counseling skills to guide the client and offer the necessary support to her.
